Aqueous Ozone

History:

Aqueous Ozone is not new. With its discovery in 1840, Ozone has been around for a long time. Its use for purifying water has been a constant research topic and a relatively unknown product. Its use as a disinfectant is relatively new and with new technology, it can be a relatively easy process with the right products or procedures.

What is it?

“Aqueous Ozone is created when an electrical current is passed through the water, splitting the Oxygen molecules into two. The oxygen molecules then attach to the spare O2 molecules and create Ozone, which gets infused with the water to create Aqueous Ozone” (Montag, 2017). Aqueous Ozone is an effective disinfectant and sanitizer created from the water that comes out of your sink!

Applications:

Aqueous Ozone can be used for cleaning and disinfecting surfaces. By simply pouring the Aqueous Ozone into a spray bottle and spraying a surface. Aqueous Ozone can clean and disinfect surfaces from bacteria, viruses, fungi, and more. Aqueous Ozone’s disinfectant capabilities have been comparable to the use of bleach, showing how strong and reliable it can be as a sanitizing agent.
